The 75 dollar regulator I bought is suposed to mount on wall and clean air or dirt oil water, and regulate.

Should I not get this.

I should just use the regulator that goes under the gun and plug a 7 dollar water filter in???

So why would someone use something like what I bought.

that one looks sort of like a commecial unit, like it would filter the air for an entier shop with a HUGE compressor.

it has a 50cfm capacity... thats huge.

thats like shop air with a compressor the size of a volkswagon in a detatched building.

it will work, its just overkill in my opinon.

Ok I see mouthfulloflake....

So the regulator that comes with my kit (plugs into gun) is good enought and all I need to buy is a cheap inline filter?

I looked at those links but Im not sure what you were recomending exactly.

Thanks-NICK

For as much as you will use it after the projects you have planned you probably dont need a $300 dollar spray gun. I do a lot of painting and I really love my Sharpe Finex. I am going to school to be a painter and have used just about every gun on the market. I am not a real big fan of DeVilbiss you pay alot for the name. If you want the best pay $400 for a Sata Jet. If you want a good gun for the money Get the Sharpe finex I paid around $75 brand new. I liked it so much I also got the mini. The Sharpe Platinum is a really nice gun to but I think they stopped maiking it. You can find them on Ebay though.

Some of the DeVilbiss guns are expensive, the SATA's are just as proud, the FinishlineIII is an entry level gun about about $100.00........

I have been using the same inline Filter for 3 years now (Painted 3 ski's with it, still have the second one that came in the package (2 Quantity).......

Works just fine..............

PICKING A PINT GUN(S) IS THE HARDEST THING I HAVE DONE!!!:17:

This is the hardest task I have came accross on my ski yet. Im so feel I have a choice I change.
Every one has a diffrent opinion and I dont know how to base my choice.

Ok so my devilbliss kit will work....
But the gun w/ 4 tips and regulator cost me 270 shipped.
So what do you recomend as a best alternative in a diffrent cheaper brand.

What am I to do...

If you're gonna paint a lot, buy the most paint gun you can afford. I use Sata guns and was surprised at the difference in quality. Super nice guns. There are a lot of Sata guns on Ebay. I've bought several from Everharts. Cool guys.

Found out my compressor spces. It says:

10.3 scfm @ 40psi
8.5 scfm @ 90psi

and its a 30 gallon.

I believe this will work fine with my finishline III, if that is what I end up ordering.
