oops I thought you were talking about cyliners.
for cyliners it seems to be either at the base of the exaust side or the middle of the intake side of the cylinder.
I just check a few sets of cases. they are marked 61x or 62t on top of the starter housing. on the bottom they say all say 6m6

Ok, just went and checked where you guys said. Between exhaust ports it says 6m6 and on top of the starter housing 61x. So it looks like I have 61x cases with 6m6 cylinders.
That sure clears things up for me.
