Right now the carbs are set to 3/4 turn low speed. 117.5 pilot 125 main 2 turns out highspeed. I am going to try either a bigger pilot or lowering my popoff. I am leaning toward the bigger pilot.

Sorry, My popoff is 22psi. I was going to try maybe a 120-125 pilot and main back down to a 110-115. I didn't really notice a difference going form the 115 to 125 pilots. I am trying to tune teh way the mikuni manual says to. I noticed people are adding fuel to the low speed circuit by turning out the low speed screw. I can get the ski to run great doing that also but it will load up at idle. with the screw 3/4 out on the bottom I can idle around all day with no problems. But when holding it off idle for a bit and then cracking the throttle I get a slight hesitation which I am assuming can be compensated with the bigger pilot jet. (I backed out the low speed screw to 1 - 1 1/4 turn and the hesitation disappeared) As far as reading the plugs should I be looking at the electrode or the ceramic? The ski pulls strong all the way through but on my 3/4 to WOT runs when I pull the plugs the ceramic is almost white with a slight tint of tan, but the electrodes are not white they are brown. The ski pulls strong and no hesitation (with the low speed screw out 1 - 1 1/4 turn. I feel I am on the right track.
I plan to try
120 pilots
3/4 low spped screw
110 mains
1 1/2 High speed Screw.
2.0 n/s @ 22psi popoff
Also I completely rebuilt both carbs and the n/s's are both brand new.
60 return jet.

if you find the mod is better with the low speed turned out but it loads up then its a good chance your low speed is to small or your pop off is to high
depending on when its doing it

Remeber when you change from circuit to circuit as you go up the range the other circuits are still working
so by adding fuel in the idle area ( low speed ) you are adding fuel in the all the circuits above that
but its causing your idle to go rich

the just off idle you are talking about is your pop pressure
its to high
drop your pop off
dont change your low speed jet just yet
take your pop off to about 18psi and see what happens

I was thinking about changing it because I could use a little more fuel up top too... its freakign confusing how it all works...

its like this
low speed adjuster
pop off pressure
low speed jet
high speed jet
high speed adjuster
you have to work out from the bottom up
and then the hard part is knowing what circuit you are on and knowing what s lean and what is rich

One key thing thing to remember...as you lower pop-off, it will increase fuel pressure and that will make the jets you are running, run like a bigger jets!
