Hi I wanted to check if some one could give me some answers.
I´m from Iceland (and I´m riding there in the cold sea) and my english isn´t the best but I´ll try

I have two stand up jet-skis
Yamah SJ 650 1992 and I just bought a kawasaki SXI Pro 750 1999.
I inported it from America and it was in racing so it has some performance parts on it. I can ride it pretty fast (much faster than the superjet) but when I try to jump it in waves on slow speed, it doesent have the same kick as the 25 less horsepowered superjet (feels like it doesent have as mutch thrust when I give it max trottle on slow speed)
I noticed that the rideplate on the kawasaki sticks out farther back than on the superjet.
could that be the reason why it´s not as fun in jumping and in frestyle?
and what can I do to make it more of a freestyle ski?

Hello there!

Few things:

Superjets have "low end power porting" as compared to "big pin 750 Kawi". Kawi's are more for top speeds. What you can do to make it jump a bit more is to shorten or D-cut rideplate and look for a good bottom end power impleller - ask about HOOKER type impeller for your setup. Maybe a wet wolf FS cone would be beneficial. Also you can bore the nozzle a bit, eg. 2mm.

The Kawi is 50+ lbs heavier than the SJ plus they're not quite as flat on the bottom so they want to plow through waves a bit more than a SJ.

Since it was a race ski, there may be additional weights in the hull. Many racers would add steel weights under the motor and in front of the fuel tank on that model ski.
