Need help with Mariner pipe on a 95 SJ

Just graduated from my Kawi 550 to a 95 SuperJet that needs a little work. Before I put it in the water I want to make sure the waterlines are plumbed right and the carb settings are in the ballpark.

Its got a Mariner pipe on it but I can't find any information on it anywhere. It looks kinda like a Factory pipe. Its got 2 set screw adjusters in the head pipe. I'll try to post some pictures of it if that would help.

I'm gonna try the baseline carb settings for a Factory "Limited" Pipe. I really could use help on how to run the water lines (including best place for a flush hose) and how to set the adjusters. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have never heard of a mariner pipe for the SJ. The water routing of most "wet" pipes is pretty similar. Assuming you have a stock head, run one hose from the bulkhead/pump to the bottom of the exhaust manifold. If you want to run a flush kit I'd T into that line.

Now run one hose out of the stock head to the bottom of the head pipe. And another hose from the top of the headpipe to the stinger. Put a T in that hose and add a pisser out the side of the ski.

That should do it.

Okay I think I understand the plumbing now but still confused on the adjusters. There is one next to the bottom barb (which I'm assuming will be the line in from the head), and there is one at the very top.

Aaron,

Thanks for your advice. If I understand correctly, you're saying I should run the line from the head to the bottom fitting (Closest to the coupler), and run the pisser/stinger line from the top fitting (closest to the manifold). I've read the instructions that Factory puts on their web site for the SJ and it seams to be saying the opposite. There is no diagram on the SJ instructions, but in the Blaster instructions thay show a picture of the stinger/bypass line running to the fitting near the coupler. Am I misunderstanding something or is there a reason for switching the lines?

That's the old pipe, what is referred to as an "A" pipe. The main difference is the fact that you have 2 adjusters (top and middle) and the bottom port pisses in the pipe all the time. On the "B" pipe, all 3 have adjusters. You would do the water routing for that the same as a "B" pipe. There are plenty of opinions on how to do it, and really no ONE right way. It might also have smaller manifold to head pipe port diameter that can be increased for some performance gains.

The most popular way for single cooling would be out the head to the top of the head pipe, then out the lower port to a "T". One side to a pisser overboard, and the other side to a JetWorks flow control valve then to the stinger to dry out the waterbox for lower RPM hit.

Thanks for all the help. The headpipe says "Mariner Factory Pipe". Are you saying that Factory Pipe made this one? Does anybody know the port diameter on the B pipe so I can open this one up?

I have the same head pipe, and a Mariner manifold on a Kawi. Maybe early on, this is the way they came? I read that Factory made pipes for Mariner or something along those lines.

My manifold on the Kawi is only 42mm, but the one on my SJ is 46.6mm. I want to say 48mm is common, but I'm not 100% sure.
