300/440/550 Need Help With Kawi 650

I recently got a 650 that had been neglected and needed some TLC to get going. One of my riding Buds gave me a bunch of parts that had been included in a sale and had been in the attic for years. There is a West Coast head with two plugs per cylinder and an MSD ignition with two coil packs. I found wiring diagrams for the ignition on the MSD site but nothing about two coils and four plugs.
I'm not really too sure running total loss in the surf is such a great idea either.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

total loss is great for racing, bt i would not recomend it on a rec boat ( especially suce an old system).

originally, it was really designed for racing. you take your ski, out of the pits, go out, and run your motor ( 15 laps, or whatever) come back to the pits, and put your ski on the charger, to keep the battery fresh, until your next moto.

i would recomend looking for a good aftermarket "lightweight" charging flywheel, and running your stock igition with that. IMO you will have less head ache's etc.

good luck with your ski

To me the MSD setup uses a lot of juice,my Westcoast setup I never really have to mess with the battery,I am running a Jetworks battery for starters and the current draw is very low,it takes nothing to start the 550 reed motor so its all good,on the X2 with the MSD its a different story ,it takes a lot of juice to run the MSD and a lot of juice to crank the ski,I recommend you have a backup battery charged and ready to go if you wish to pursue this.

Are we talking about two spark plugs per cylinder? With two coil packs? I'd like to see some pictures of that set up. I've never heard or seen anything like that before. I don't see how having two sparks plugs would be better than one. It seems more like a gimmic like the splitfire sparkplugs than anything else. As long as you have good strong spark with one plug there's no need for another. -take note that I don't know much so everything i say could be wrong.
