Need help identifying a 750

I purchased this ski from the original owner. The registration shows it is a 1995 model. The HIN is blank and has no tag under the battery box. When I went to sell it many people think it's an SXI Pro. The pole and gas cover have been painted black so ignore the color scheme. Also the hood is not original. Decals say Sxi Pro but i think they're aftermarket

Reasons it could be an SXI Pro:
Fuel tank location(in the middle)
Inside of hull is not gel coat
No HIN(replacement hull?)

Reasons it could be a 1995 Sxi:
Purple pads
Purple rear compartments

The ski was purchased as a pair with a blaster i wanted but when I have tried to sell it I am now unsure of what it is. Has not been run since 2002. Pics below. Any help would be appreciated.

i'd be willing to bet its a 1998 sxi pro. the bilge area/bottom deck looking on the inside appears to be raw glass which means hand laid bottom deck. only 1998 or newer pro look like that. all older models are white inside. only the 1998 pro came with the purple option and the fire extinguisher/ storage compartment holes in the back are purple plastic. if it was a 1999 or newer, those would be black. I cant tell by the pic if the motor is a big or small pin. if it has 10 nuts holding the intake manifold on , its a small pin. if it has 12 nuts its a big pin. between the 2 intake runners is where it will or wont have the 2 extra nuts. the cases are built different in that area.1998 must be the year they used the grey big pin motor. 1995 was also a grey big pin. all 1996 and newer have the green big pin motor. its dual carb so its probably a big pin. it should have dual mikuni carbs on there instead of dual keihin carbs. all 1996 and newer stand up 750s came with mikuni. all sitdown 750s came with keihin carbs and 1995 750 sxi came with dual keihin. and it got the skinny gas tank which came on all pro models. the motor on the 1998 and newer pro sits 1" farther forward than the older 750s which keeps the nose down better and it porpoises less. also the bottom deck is upgraded from the sx and sxi models. 1998 and newer has deeper chines and uses the same rideplate as the 2003 and newer sxr800. sxi pros handle and ride better than the sx or sxi but its still a kawi 750. LOL

I'm thinking the same. What would be the explanation for the blank hull id?

Just realized this doesn't explain the repainted pole and gas cover though. It is the pink/purple from the 1995 model not the true purple from 1998. Who knows!

FWIW my '98 SXi Pro has the green big pin dual carb engine. Stock engine in mine. Could be that some '98 came with silver and some came with green?

the pole and gas door are all dark dark blue on all pro years even with the purple pads and bumpers. pole looks back but it aint. I didn't think it was the 1998 that had the grey motor, so that's probably been changed from green. like I said before, the hood and pole pad are off an older sx. the blank vin could mean the bare hull was bought from Kawasaki as a replacement back in the day. if it was a bogus hin, I doubt it would be left blank.

There are a couple chips in the underside paint of pole and gas door that show the original hotpink/purple color

somebody probably took a 1995 sxi and changed the hull to a pro. that would explain the painted pole and gas door and the grey motor. it also looks like keihin dual carbs from the throttle shaft arm where the cable attaches. it does not explain the thin gas tank, sx hood and purple chin pad. clearly parts were used from a few different skis. all that really matters here is that you got the best 750 hull design. the rest is all the same

I think you're right. Seems like a lot of work for the newer hull but someone did it i guess. I'm thinking the paperwork I have is for what would have been the original hull. I'm going to put it up for sale with some more info now. Thanks for the help. It's $1,000.
