How did I get here?

It's a Mikuni. My guess is BN44. I think the Supers have a third adjustment needle for the mid-range.

Measure the intake in mm to get the exact model. Either a 38 or a 44 I think.

BN's look different and have the third adjust, not the other way around.
What's pictured is an SBN.

Yes, they are good. Green was the first to have the annular discharge, Redtops, SRE and Jetworks came out with them years later. They are good. I had some SRE's for a while, could not ever get them really tuned, but they used a 3rd circuit, set in the midrange that I could not figure out. Should have just plugged it and ran them. I would run them.

It's not one of the current bandwagon models, so selling it may be tough.
My average customer (coucher) wouldn't be interested, and an online sale may be difficult.

I had a set of blackjacks with the annular discharge they looked just like that minus the red top's DUh!! The look really cool when running but I couldn't get it dialed in. I finally went back to my stock 38's. Try and throw in on there to see how it works for you.... Then sell it if you can't get it dialed in pretty quick.

Redtop SBN 44mm carb.
The funky fittings are most likely modified this way because this carb probably started life as a OEM carb.
The butted shaft reveal's this, aftermarket carbs have an extended shaft so you can run them coupled together for dual and triple applications.
Look at the # on the flat area right below the fuel pump plate, this will tell you the origination of the carb.
Also look at the number of low speed holes for the low jet in the throttle bore, 3 or 4 hole?

You know how I feel about anal discharge carbs! I love mine!!! I don't know why they work but they do and mine were super easy to dial in and have been very forgiving IMO.
