Yes, in Utah. Elevation is about 5,420' where we ride.
As I expected... that is a HUGE part of your problem! You're giving up 15 to 20% of your horsepower due to the lack of air density (oxygen). Besides that, the builder probably didn't give you an impeller pitched for your elevation, or the proper domes to compensate with some extra compression... so the ski has no punch down low, right?
My advice is bigger engine, more compression, high altitude prop and more timing... possibly with the total loss. Altitude is a bitch... it makes a decent running ski a turd and a great running ski so-so...
