Need advice on Freeride SJ mods for a fellow rider from Aus

I ride a 99 SJ. Looking at doing a few mods just to get a bit better bottom and mid range power and make it handle better. Already have bars, footholds, tubbies etc. Want to keep my motor stock for reliability. I ride a mix of flatwater and surf.

Is it worth putting an aftermarket head on it?

Have lined up a protec pipe for $50, should I just put this on or will it be better to spend alot more cash and get a factory B pipe.

Looking at a Sato engineering steering nozzle, are these any good and worth the money?

What is the best prop to run with the head/pipe setup? Have looked through many forums but just getting confused. I have a blowsion freetyle cone on the stock prop at the moment. Will I notice much improvement from the stock prop.

Any other suggestions for budget modifications??

Thanks everyone in advance for you help!!

Can't beat a pipe for $50.
Mill your stock head if you don't want to spend the cash for a new one.
Maybe bump your timing.
A prop will be a HUGE improvement.

Don't know what budget you are playing with but a nozzle wouldn't be high on my list of mods.

hey where in AUs u from, just dont waist your time on a nozzle stock is fine i use one, get a short turn plate with billet steering, just save your money, mill the head, get a port job and just a few bits send me a pm with your number and i will put u in the right direction.

I agree with Boris if you are trying to do a budget build. I put a pro tec pipe on a buddies ski. I was fairly happy with the power. I know they make a couple different pipes, but for $50 go for it!

e-mail Dave at Impros about props. Definitely a MUST!

Worx intake grate is another big thing if you don't already have one.

Shorten your stock pole a few inches.

Move your pivot point in on your steering nozzle so you get faster steering. Blowsion(and others) make a kit for this or you can fab. something yourself.

these two will net you the most gains for the least money. the stock props on any superjet up to 07 are garbage. 08 and up uses a stainless big hub prop that is much better than the aluminum one from the earlier superjets

milling the stock head will make some more power but you still have to buy a new gasket every time you pull the head for any reason.
