If you have never ridden jetskis really, i would highly recommend getting a waveblaster. ITs easier than a stand up, but still takes skill to ride. it was one of the best skis in the surf and even on flat water its a blast becasue of the way it handles. Its like a dirtbike
I started on a blaster. I wish I would have got straight to a superjet. I live in tampa too you should take tom21 up on his offer to try out his (he has an sxr and SJ) you can try out my sj also but it's a little different than a normal one.

good thing about this area is we have a large ride group. :headbang:

Man, I think it is awesome all of you offering your skis to somebody that you have not only never met, but also somebody that hasn't ridden one. What a great group. I seriously plan on taking somebody up on the offer. I'll ride Rich's SXR (Jetaddict) and see how that goes, but I'd like to get on an SJ too just for comparison purposes.
And yes, the large group action is awesome. Part of the reason why I want to get into it so bad.:burnout:

Gotta plead ignorant again...is it super quick or something?

Its basically a superjet, but 25lbs lighter, a lot skinnier, and much more difficult to ride. Very squirrelly...it took me some time to get used to it. you could get one, but your best bet like everyone else would say, is the superjet. its fun, its easier, and theirs so many parts. FX1 was only made from 94'-95'. Good luck..

Oooh yeah, last thing I need is for it to be 'skinny and squirrelly'. Yeah, It's certainly down to a SJ or a SXR, with heavy lean toward the SJ.
