Check for a hole in the fuel line somewhere before you tear into the motor. It can be a small one that doesn't even hardly leak.

Been there and done that and figured it out while re-installing my motor after a complete tear down to try to find an air leak.

So i pulled off the rear carb and blew through it with wd-40. and that didnt help. Could i have a bad external fuel pump? I still get zero reading on my spark plugs, unless their just THAT lean??? I wasnt able to tell if fuel was flowing through the lines or not, but it appeared to be. I'd like to open the motor as a last resort

Just thought i would update: i swapped my full spec 48's with a set of aftermarket mikuni 44's i ran last season, and it fixed my rough/slow ride. So the problem is within my carbs. I'll end up sending them away ( to brazina ) to get them checked, cleaned, and rebuilt over the winter. woohoo.
