Mysterious Vibration/Shake

This one has me a bit stumped..This odd vibration/shake only happens when I land from a BF or barrel roll and when I make a hard left turn to attack my set-up wake..Last week I found the front exhaust engine mount had sheared off, so it was replaced and all the others were inspected and look great, I removed the PTO coupler to inspect that area with tugging and such and all appears OK, I inspected the prop/pump/pump mounts and everything looks OK, I pulled the plugs and turned the engine my hand..things feel smooth and free with low to no noise heard:dunno: So other than landing tricks and hard left turns the ski runs flawlessly..any ideas???Perhaps worn drive shaft/short shaft, I'm actually lost on this one:banghead:

Sounds like a problem we had with TXJFrosty's last year after an inverted sub into the bottom of the lake. It was the intermediate housing.

Definitely check alignment again.

But yeah, last year i drilled the sandbar from a huge nose stab that got really inverted (was actually cool looking) but not after i hit bottom. after than i noticed a bad vibration... turned out my intermediate house bearings were f'd. Of course, my battery tray exploded and broke my battery apart, along with a nice chunck of the nose and a few other misc. damages.

So just be thorough and check everything you can.

how can one tell if the mid shaft/housing is shot or warped?? Can a failure be heard or visually seen?? it appears ok and when truned be hand it's silent...any thoughts..

in my case i heard a grinding and felt a bad vibration. My bearings were shot, but my short shaft was good - i had the dealer check the run out on both the my short shaft and my pump shaft to make sure they were in spec.

just to update::Thanks to all who offered some insight and tried to help with this mind bender:arms: ..I tore the ski down completely and looked/inspected every individual piece of the drive line, including the flywheel for tightness..What i found wrong was NOTHING, everything was well within spec, smooth and looking like new, so I reassembled the ski and took it out for a hard ride and amazingly NO More Vibration under hard load and landings..So I can only speculate that when I sheared off the exhaust front engine mount that the engine must have slipped slighly out of poition on the other 3 mounts causing a very slight mis-alignment problem...Also I would like to note that I always cut 3/4" pieces of 3/8" water line to put around the engine mount bolts to take up some of the slop around the oem bed plates, this also helps me when aligning the engine/short shaft/pump to insure that the engine part of the process stays relatively constant with very minimal movement..Thanks Again To All
