My week old battery already done?

I just put in a new battery a week ago. I went to start my ski the night before we were going riding, and the ski was dead. I charged it over night. Half way through riding the next day, I crashed, went to start it again and the battery was dead. Why is my brand new battery draining so quickly? Any help is appreciated.

Yeah maybe its not charging... I don't know. Kind of frustrating when you get stranded out in the middle of no where because your battery all of a sudden goes dead. Maybe I'll take the thing back to Wal Mart. To bad I didn't keep my receipt.

Borrow a good battery from someone else and see if you kill that one too. If you kill a battery you know is good, the problem is the ski.

this might sound stupid...but did you read the directions on properly filling and charging the battery the 1st time.... Apparently, most people do not and the batteries will not last.... THIS COMING FROM THE WALMART GUY....

Most people, just take them home, fill them up with the acid and charge them, that's not the way you should do it....

Step one.... fill with acid... allow acid to sit for atleast one full hour...
Step two.... check acid level, fill to proper level....
Step three.... your 1st full charge should be done on a motorcycle trickle charger.


I think that's what the directions stated...regardless... read the directions and follow them... When the Walmart guy told me that, I ended up buying a $17.00 motor cycle charger... I will say, I haven't had any problems with the battery all season...

good point... the directions are very precise on how to charge them the first time. I just did my Everstart ES4LB-S and followed the direction to the T.

also maybe a bad starter. My nephews did the same thing. Fully charged but would barely crank over. With a jump start it cranked. He even replaced the battery with a new one. I tested his battery in my ski and started just fine (problably b/c it's a SN instead if a crappy RN). :)

All im saying is put your battery into another ski before thinking it was the battery.

failing to follow the direction shouldn't make it quit that quickly..
(unless you ran a 10 amp charger over night and boiled the water away..)
Check the level?

In any case, you have 30 days for a full exchange warranty. Go get a new one and give it to a coucher..
