That is a good tip...also while you still have the cases apart rub molly lube all over the crank. It'll help keep the crankshaft lubed when the engine is first starting to run with little to no oil in the engine. Also double check to make sure your crank seals are in their proper grooves and facing the right directions.

Got the motor together yesterday, and in/running today. she wasnt happy about starting in this freezing temps we have, but it ran and feels really good! still have to plumb the cooling lines, add a few zip ties, and just generally go over it before it goes in the water, but for the most part its ready for spring! too bad it wont see water for aleast 2 months!

If we had weather like we did yesterday I would argue about the whole 2 months thing. Just shoveled the for 5 minutes and lost my enthusiasm. Currently -13*C and feeling like -21*C, and expected to drop another 10*C tonight. I am so done with this winter.

yea its handy and looks pretty sweet though the cap itself is pretty heavy. Came with the ski when i bought it!

I did a little run with the new motor on the stand, all feels real good but i wont know till its in the water, ill give it a water ride then pull the head to check everything out, but i dont see any issues thus far!
