Other My Seadoo Experience..

Out of my group we all ride Yamahas and Kawasakis. I personally rode a 98 Kawasaki XI last season and this season upgraded to a 93 750SX with some mods, I hang with stock SXR's with only being about 2 MPH slower. Im happy with my Kawasakis and never had a problem at all. Well, my buddy wants to buy a ski and despite us all riding yamaha and kawasaki he decides to buy a 94 Seadoo XP for $475. After polishing everything up it looks to be pretty sharp. Needed carb work the guy claimed. Here is how it unfolded;

1. Castings on carb are cracked, inlet on fuel pump is cracked off. Put new carbs.
2. Hook up water, oh didnt see the head bolt was cracked. Water is leaking from here. All the headbolts break and needs new cylinders with pistons.
3. Bring it down to the water to water test it and it cavitates like a bitch! The bronze liner in the pump has buckled.
4. Get a new jet pump, it will NOT come out! Ive tried about it all, I even used a come along to a tree. After not budging I put the car in reverse and drove forward. The pump stayed and the ski pulled back on the trailer, breaking my winch and my ratchet strap.

The pump has ears that the studs go through. In order to get it out, I had to cut the pump free from the studs! What a fricken joke! I should've skipped the come along part, I had so much tension on it, it slightly cracked the corner of the pump tunnel!

I just figured I would share this nightmare.
