Gas saver for sure. I've done the same thing with my Eagle Talon and now currently a Honda Civic!! Last time at the ramps I saw a celica towing TWO couches!!! I would only be nervous with a RWD vehicle

Yeah i do not get the bast gas mileage at all. It is only about 20ish when i am towing. I would have bought a truck but the only ones I can afford are several years old and dont get very good gas mileage as an everyday driver. When i am not towing i can average mid 20's but i also do a lot of city driving between school and work. It does have the displacement on demand so that helps a little.

I like the DOD, I have it on my envoy denali with the same 5.3l v8 you have. I get about 22 on the highway

I really wanted to put a hitch on my 300zx Twin Turbo but never got around to it before I sold it. Pulling my ski with a 450hp Z would have been sick lol. I prob would have had to upgrade my tie down straps lol

Yeah...., just gotta use what ya have to get your brap fix!

Absolutely!! The only down side is carrying all my gear, tools, and fuel inside the car. I do plan on build/buy a box to put on the trailer and a couple mounts for gas cans just have not decided how i am going to set it all up.

I have my tools in a tool bag I used to carry for work. like $25 for a real nice one from home depot then I keep all my gear wet or dry in a $4 storage tote from walmart and if I am going somewhere that I need more than 1 tank of fuel I just bungy it on. but i do plan to build a rack on the trailer though.
Here is my ride. I have a truck but this is just for curtain occasions. http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/114834-Tow-Rig

Here's my "rig" 2000 mitsubishi mirage saves a HUGE amount on gas compared to my truck, Went from NW Iowa to Wis Dells at 32.4mpg with the car and trailer loaded full of camping gear.
