FX-1 My Newest Obsession...1995 FX-1

Recently picked up a FX-1 after wanting one for quite some time now. I was a bit worried since everyone always said how hard they are to ride...the odd thing is that I can ride this ski in chop way better than I can my superjet. I am in love with it already and am considering selling off at least one of my Superjets now.

Mods: FX-1 Bpipe, AC Racing pole, Billet Lowered Pole mount(not sure which brand?),Riva head, modded stock hood(shaved fire extinguisher and handholds installed), footholds, 24/7 scupper(getting combined with a verisplug max soon), protec intake grate, protec ride plate, solas impeller and aftermarket bars.

It is getting a Kraze WPP intake manifold w/ 46mm carb pretty soon and will have the pump mod sooner than later. Definitely need some more hookup with this machine. Have a spare 62t/61x motor laying around so it may get that this winter.

Rails need returfed...last owner pulled turf off rails and left the glue behind.

They're impossible to ride......sell that POS as soon as possible!

I've never understood why our "extreme" sport needs easy to ride boats, and the FX is a fantastic handling ski once you master it.

Welcome to the FX addiction!

I like that pole bracket. Does it allow for the stock pole latch?

You wouldn't believe the amount of people that said they were impossible to ride. However as mentioned I can ride it better than my SJ and there was no learning curve at all..I jumped on and went. I love how it handles in chop too..very easy to throw around as well. Can't wait to get more power to the water!

The pole bracket had a couple threaded holes and the previous owner made a bracket to allow stock front hood latch. It looks very good and works great. It didn't have a pole spring on it so I installed an aftermarket SJ pole spring and had to do some minor trimming on it to make it fit. Also installed a Watcon hood seal since they had pieces of hydroturf glued in place....

If you can ride a stand up you should be able to ride any stand up I don't see why a fx1 is supposedly so hard to ride. It might be a different ride but by no means impossible. I think everyone should learn to ride on a 550 if you can ride that you can ride anything. Sorry old man rant over. Nice ski it makes me miss mine

Well seasoned riders jump on my fx,ride for 3 min, fall over in the turns and give it back shaking their head asking how in the hell i ride that thing...

I love it. it slices through the chop and turns like a surf board. When i ride a sj everything feels like its happening in slow motion.

I never thought mine was hard to ride, just never knew when it was gonna decide to eject me, usually at high speed. Loved mine, and miss it at times. Enjoy, I think they're fun skis. Just unpredictable

i think your ski just needs a AM cdi and it will be great my old sj had the same problem and when the msd enhancer went out and i went the cheap way and put a stock one back in it bouced off the limiter all the time so i put in a new msd and it fixed it. I think thats what yours needs but other than that i loved your ski man it was so much fun to ride

I started out on a 440, then a FX1, and now have a RN. I've enjoyed each one more than the last. When I get back on FX1's now, I don't care for them. I think if the bond rail was wider it would make a world of improvement. But thats just me.

Good looking ski! I like that pole bracket a lot. Tom21 has the fiberglass drop in pump swap whopper doober.... that might be a good direction.
