My new SXR

I Just want to say, Hi! I recenlty purchased a 2004 SXR 800. Seems like it will fit my ride style to a T. I ride flat water and just play around, and my 1990 650 was getting tired. It has foot wells cut in allready, but no turff installed. Where is the best place to purchase turf and glue? Are there any things I should know about installing turrf? I also have a friend with a stock 800 and would like to catch him. I have used the search feature, and it sounds like a pump cone, timing advance, pipe plug?, cut head, flywheel cutting are the cheap easy things to start with. Let me know if there is anything I am missing. What jetting is recomended with a few mods? Where are the best places on line to get these mods? Like to help the site as much as possiable.

wet pipe would be first thing you have to spend money on.
group k can cut your head. timing is just a jumper wire. hydroturf.com has the turf. pump cone will take some off top end and help botton end.

o have a heat gun ready when you do the turf, for pushing and pulling.

I got my turf from Blowsion, glue at your local hardware store, weldwood contact cement, in the red can. a quart did all my turf with two coats on all of it and like redsxr800 said, you will need a heat gun and lot's of patience.

sending the stock impeller to IMPROS to have it repitched and cut back will help the bottom also.

bore your nozzle if you do the cone, it will help.

Thanks guys! How much does Impros charge to cut back the impeller? What exactly does that mean? What should I make the bore size of the nozzle?

i would order your turf from hydro-turf themseves. they will have glue and brushes too

best to call impros directly. i them repitch, repair, and cutback my impeller for $130 a couple years ago.

cutting back an impeller means that some of the bottom of the impeller is shaved off so that the whole unit sits further inside the pump and more importantly closer the pump stator vanes.
