My new prop, new question

So I ordered a new prop from Blowison. Just recieved it on Friday, but they didn't send me the exact prop I requested. I requested a 13/17 3mm cut back, but blowsion sent me a 13/16 3mm cut back. I do not even have my ski setup yet to handle the 13/17, but I am planning on having it set to a lightly limited setup to run the 13/17 (b pipe, possible FA's, possible milled stock head) within the next 1.5 months. But here's my question:

With my the future setup I listed above, will the 13/16 3mm cutback be too low of a prop for my mods or will I be able to use it? Just wondering if I am going to have to exhange it or not.

Kinda a sub question but will be best answered on the phone with blowsion tommorrow, the prop itself says YB CD 13/17 ingraved on the side, but the box has the IMPROS sticker on it that says 13/16 3mm cutback. Which do you guys believe the prop truley is?

You will be more than fine. In fact, I think the 13/16 is a better choice than the 13/17.

I run the 13/16 cutback 3mm on my boat...it's heavily modded - quite a bit more than what you've got listed for the future - and it is a very good prop for it.

You would be worse off with the 13/17 - as that is a taller pitch, and needs a stronger motor to pull it than the 13/16.

If it's not a 13/17, then the new pitch will be engraved on the inside of the hub.

If it is a 13/16... you might want to keep quiet about ripping them off for a free repitch :woot:

looking at blowsion web site the prop with the part number i recieved pn 02-04-113 is for "flat water", but I ride the ocean and sometimes need to ride like 2 miles to where we jump the waves.

So factoring in that I am only going to have a mild limited setup and that I sometimes travel, again is this 13/16 going to be alright for my setup?

My first mod was a 13/15 cutback 3mm + ww cone. That ran terrific on a stock ski and held me over nicely for a couple weeks until I could get my bpipe in. I ride surf but I'm not sure why there'd be a difference between surf and flat pitches. :dunno: You'll be happy with the one you got.

Installed it last night here are some pictures, but I have a question. I recieved both of the pictures nose cones to place on the nose of the impeller (rubber black one, and red aluminum one). But even just from the pictures you can see that the two nose cones have a different inner diameter. When I slid the red one on the drive shaft it was it did not fit snuggly around the shaft like the rubber one, and in addition it would not stay in nose of the impeller. If I were to have installed it with the red one, it could have just rattle off and floated around the drive shaft.

The instruction did not say anything about installing a "nose cone". Do you think this is the wrong part? Possibly for different PWC, or possibly was I suppose to use some kinda of bonding agent ie silicone to keep the nose cone in place.

I ended up installing it with the rubber one, b/c I want to take it for a ride today.

On a mildly modified motor the 13/16 will probably work better than a 13/17 because it will allow the engine to run at a slightly higher rpm. And the 16 will be as fast on top end as the 17 if not a little faster because of the higher engine rpm.
