I noticed that the Seadoo solenoids are the cheapest of all PWC solenoids, but for some strange some reason I think I will have a hard time sticking a Seadoo part in my SJ...
I had an exposed evinrude O/B boat motor starter relay in my x2 for a while. Worked well and appeared to be pretty well sealed.
Think I still got it if you want to try it...
Here's what it looks like. http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=85137F
Our favorite starter relay is extremely durable and is waterproof. The heavy duty casing and contact relays will withstand even the most extreme saltwater abuse. The quick disconnect wiring to the relay makes it easy to use with MSD or other ignition systems. $39.95
That's exactly like the Seadoo one! The newer ones from Seadoo are now light brown colored and if you buy the relay model for updating a older seadoo, it comes as a kit and includes the plug! $40 is about right!
It is basically a secondary rev limiter you can activate with a button. The idea is to not let the engine rev past a certain point to limit cavitation off the bottom.
I believe it's a racer feature. I wouldn't bother for a freestyle/freeride/recreational application.
Is that like the dual Blowsion or Riva military grade rotary switch that are like $40?
On the dash, I'd be worried about kicking or something maybe.. hmmm
