FX-1 My mini mag fx1

I wanted a new ski and decided to go back to an fx1.
I love there flickabilty but didn't want to do a 144 conversion all the ones I have ridden just don't seem like the old fx1.
They lose some of there extremeness ( is that a word)
So here is my mini mag. 133 wr500 pump
I'm going to make a new liner for it as the original is a mixed flow pump with a taper liner.
Its a 75mm hub and matches perfectly with a mag prop, I just have to machine it down. If it works out well I will buy a new stator section.
Any helpful ideas / suggestion then feel free to say them

No it will not be. But it should not require any glass work. And the stock liner will go out to 130mm so it will be close. Also the stock fx1 drive shaft will work. No need to worry about a big hub as its already there as well

Interesting approach. I think the loss of "extremeness" you've felt in the 144 modded FXs might be more in how the mod was accomplished vs being an issue with the 144 pump.

Let us know how this works out.........what engine setup will you be running?

What is the stator section your comparing it to in the pics? Stock 144? I feel like this could def work. If the stock liner only goes to 130 before you break through are you going to do something different or just turn the prop down to 130? If there was some way to use a bigger liner and keep the prop closer to 135 ish the"neck down" to the 133 stator would actually help keep a strong load on the pump. The 148 kawi pump has a 148 wear ring/prop and the stator only measures 144. And that thing can hold a load!!! (ask specialFx)

Its a stock stator and a wave runner stator you see there.
The new one is the 144 and the older one is the 133
I will turn the prop down to fit the 133 mm liner I will have to make it will have a 1.5mm step which I will just have to blend in t

Maybe the 144 fx1 you have tested have a full SJ driveline . long driveshaft with setback pump. that's what change the fx1...

If you want to gain hook up without changing too much the way the fx1 handle go with a kawi 140 pump.

my 0.02 cents

Just trying to source the stainless to make a pump liner at the moment I can buy it but I have to buy a 20 metre length so thats a bit expensive and so waiting on a shop to get back to me on off cuts.
I will then draw the flange to match the 500 pump and get one laser cut out. Its not going to be something I rush through I have heaps of other projects on the go at the moment.

Well its been a while but I have the stainless pipe here ready to make the liner.
I was to busy spending money on other projects to waste money on the fx. This was the major part and now I need to draw the flange and get that cut.

I have the pump out of the fx1 and have started on the jig so i can make sure it fits correctly.

It doesnt fit the pump shoe correctly unless you make a new one. Every 144 fx1 I have ridden doesn't seem to have the same flick-ability as the original fx1. And its kinda cool
