My Head Wont Come off

Got a decent deal on a 550 with bad compression (if there is such a thing) for 100 bucks. The guy tried to take off the head but cracked the cylinders in doing so. Got it home last night and tried to remove the head but I started to chip/crack the cylinders.

Anybody have suggestions on how to get this head off? I was thinking about drilling 2 holes in 2x8 and find a bolt that fits the sparks plug threads.
Rest the 2x8 on the studs on top and tighten the "Spark Plug Bolts"

By the way I have an extra set of matching cylinders and pistons I plan on putting into this ski but I would like to keep the head.

So SInce my engine is out right now is there any cleaning or stuff to do the ski with th engine out?I was just going to pressure wash it.

Open for ALL ideas though I am on a "Light Wallet Diet"

Lookin forward to hearin from ya

I was prying, then tapping LIGHTLY with a hammer and flathead (maybe get it going) Then after about 1hr of no porgress I went for proke and started really smackin the back of the screw driver hard and still I have the head moving like 1/8" in some areas and not budging in others.

Granted the hard hitting hammer was probably a dumb idea but it was 2:00 am and I was pretty frustrated so it seemed last resort at the time.

Ohe yeah, stock as far as I can tell from the outside. Looks like someone might have JB welded when they didnt want to replace a head gasket.

Sounds interesting. A few things you may try are:
Tap each stud (with a nut on it) to help break loose any crud between stud and jug.
Turn motor over with spark plugs in to utilize compression to unseat head.
Use plenty of penetrating oil!!
Use a bigger f@$%cking hammer!!!!

I would like to get a cheap set of foot holds, I have neoprene that I plan to use as hydroturf for now atleast (saves some money for other mods) I bought a nice pair of 0 deree handle bars.

CHEAPER the better for now, dont want to put TOO much money into this ski, Im saving for an SJ.:Banane01:

Heres what I was thinking about doing

Drilling 2 holes in 2x8 and find a bolt that fits the sparks plug threads.
Rest the 2x8 on the studs on top and tighten the "Spark Plug Bolts"

You could try that, but depending on how bad the corrosion is between the studs and the head, you'll probably just end up pushing the studs into the wood. I believe heat will loosen up the corrosion though. I think PB blaster and WD40 may cause the corrosion to swell.

I secured the cylinder between metal bars on a press, put a rod through the cylinder and pushed on the head. I didn't care if I banged up the head or not.
