I always wanted a standup so I decided to pick up a cheap project. I bought a 650sx hull with some parts for $50 and another parts ski for another $50. I grabbed a motor for $100 that needed some rings.

Here's what I started with.

I smoothed up the bottom and painted it with epoxy appliance paint.

Here it is packed up to take to the paint booth at work

Here's the "custom" paint job. Rattle can flat black and custom mixed rustoleum (hunter green, rusty metal primer, and acetone).

Next came the turf. This is a lot harder than it looks. I have some decent sized gaps and not many of the edges are real clean. It's a good 10' boat though.

Here's some completed pictures.

I didn't get any pics of the motor install but it's just a stock motor with a modded stock exhaust. It's still got the 28mm carb with a primer instead of a choke. I added a lanyard kill switch and an electric bilge is in and wired. I just need to get a hull fitting and hook up the outlet. It's got 4 degree bars and a finger throttle.

Hopefully this winter or next I can start on a superjet. That is if I actually use this one.

Looks like it was a fun project! have you hit the water with it yet?
I've been on it twice so far. Figured out how to get up on it but haven't had a chance to work on standing turns yet. I'm having some jetting issues right now. I need a day where I can spend more than half an hour messing with it. I'm not sure it's going to happen though. I'm having my first child in 2 weeks. That'll probably end my jet ski time for this summer.
