I was told by chris it was like 13-14 complete for glass and 8 or 9 complete for the carbon hood. don't quote me that was a couple of months ago. Thanks for bringing that up Dan, you reminded me that I owe chris some action pics.

Ask reed to weigh his carbon hood it should be easy since it's not on a ski.

got around to weighing her today as someone else had asked recently as well... clocked in at 14 lbs... with not much hardware to speak of... just some 1/4 alumin reinforce plates/tube and the outer and inner steering collar/ plate. Sorry my cam is currently inop or I'd post up some pix's.

well, its been awhile since iv been on here. since febuary it seems like all weve done is waited for parts to arrive. our plan was to have the ski done last weekend, and try to make the GA ride, but not all my parts were here yet last week. the motor parts did come in a few weeks ago, so thats done. but Ed just finished my carbs on sat. my mid shaft just arrived today, and my steering parts and trim system from wammer are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. so all that leaves is my MSD TL. it is supposed to be in tomorrow as well. so well see. and if it is, off to jersey i go to finish the ski. Sabo's SJ will be comming home as well. iv been riding the crap out of my kawi these last few weeks. it seems to break everytime i ride it. im ready for the new boat! so my fate is in the hands of UPS now. pray for an MSD package for me tomorrow! hopefully next week ill have some pics of the finished product!

did he say 3.5lbs woww

yea, i actually weighed it myself when i got there. and its strong. my friend has 13lb fiberglass hood from over seas. and we compared them this weekend. and my carbon hood looks and feels way stronger.
he makes a surf hood at like 5.5lb-6lb. the hood i ended up going with is like 4-4.5. ill weigh it after the ski is done. its still needs stickered(+.05oz :haha:),air tubes in, and hood mount brackets are bolted on.

well, ski will be finished next week. it was all set up for last weekend, but weisco forgot to put rings in the one box, and they closed early for the holiday on fri. there was a part or two that got left behind in ohio, that and a few parts that Sabo needed for his build i donated out of my pile to get his build finished, so the SJ stayed in NJ for now. Sabo built the blue 03 hull i started with. (we traded 03 blue for 05 black) he went with a stock stroke 770, with all the goodies. it runs real nice! cait wait to rip it up this sunday. we both got the new 24/7 footholds. real comfy!!! i liked them in his ski alot. i have to work this weekend, so i will be headin back next thurs/fri to finish up the build. my work schedule has kept me away from the sj these past few weeks, so im still rockin the ole kawi for now! ill ya posted.

Just hope it doesnt sink:frown:

its awsome!!!!! i love it. it hits so hard. tons of power. i rode it for a lil sunday nite when i finally got home, i was so wore out from the long weekend and the drive. couldnt barelly hang on. i tried my first barrel roll on it at the shop, and i went well past 3/4 with only half throttle. gonna ride weds. cant wait!

well, the boats done and home!!!!!!! it was a long weekend in NJ. but i made it home. ( had to cut a hole in the floor of my astro van to change a fuel pump at 7AM sun morning, but i made it home!(25 gal tank w/ 24 gal in it, i wasnt droppin that one) ill get some pics and stuff on here soon. but right now im going to bed! big thanks to mark and powder for working all weekend with me to get it finished. me and powder didnt qite untill 5am one nite, and i slept for an hour on a couple rolls of hydro turf, and mark and i fired back up at 6am. the ski came out great! Ian from Stuck Up(areyoustuckup.com) hooked me up with a sweet sticker kit. the material is easy enought to install at home! well, ill talk to everybody soon.
:brap:

well, got some quick pics. still turfing tonite. i ended up going with a 10mm stroker crank instead of the 8mm and smaller pistons. its at s 783 now. room for another rebuild before 800cc. 49 full specs, total loss, b pipe, x-metal water box, wammer trim. the 24/7 carbon hoodand pole are still at the paint shop getting cleared, so i am using a borrowed 24/7 glass hood(surf, 13lbs) and Ants U.M.I pole for now. will have the other stuff soon. after the it all complete i wanna get a total boat weight. the hull with half the turf, footholds, scupper tube, rubber tank/waterbox pads, strap hardware and fuel door blockoff, fully reinforced weighed in at 110lbs. i didnt weigh the motor but shes definatly heavier than stock! so hopfully with the carbon hood, pole, ride plate, and chinpad it will be comparable to a finished lighweight boat????we will see. its runs very strong! i am super happy with it!!!! it has tons of power! and after this year or so(maby by fall), we are probally gonna put a set of the regular sleeves in it, grab some bigger pistons make it up around a 1000cc.? ? ? but well have to see. this project broke my bank. gonna have to watch the spending for a lil while. im super excited about my new boat. Big thanks to Mark from full throttle and 24/7. he helped me so much on this boat, couldnt of done it with out him. and Powder too, his help inabled me to make it back home in time for work on monday! thanks alot guys!!!! heres the pics i took yesterday.
