Hey Tim you wouldn't happen to know the weights of the fiberglass hood conversion vs the carbon fiber one would ya? How much weight does the steering add to that?

I was told by chris it was like 13-14 complete for glass and 8 or 9 complete for the carbon hood. don't quote me that was a couple of months ago. Thanks for bringing that up Dan, you reminded me that I owe chris some action pics.

Ask reed to weigh his carbon hood it should be easy since it's not on a ski.

he offered me a 5.5lb hood like pat bogarts as well. the 5.5 is the surf hood, and the 3.5 is the flatwater. i asked pat about it and he says that his hood is real strong... marks says i wont break it. and hes standing behind it... so im along for the ride!

They all can break.......... Hope Mark does stand behind it. As far as I know, they have not been tested over a period of time, he just bought 24/7 about 2 months ago........... He has some really big shoes to fill.......... I wish him luck.

It does look very sweet from the pics. Is it gel coated?

I did a simalar build..... but on a way tighter budget. Coming to any region 7 events?

im not sure if its gel coated, iknow that pats hull is gel coated black, not sure of the process with the visual carbon stuff. yea! lol. i started on a budget as well, this whole thing started that i just wanted a superjet. and then i rode a few lightweights. and all i wanted to do was build a lightweight. iv never competed before just freeride, but always wanted to maby someday. so, that took me back to building a stock hull, under 800cc boat. just like everything i get into, this project started. it sucks that so far iv sold (2 kawi 750s, 1 more to go, a yz125, and as of this weekend my snowmobile) a bunch of toys for 1 ski. but it will be sweet when the summers here. i hope! not sure about where i can try some compititons this year, what region is close to ohio....

Isn't it great just knowing 24/7 is here to stay. :woot:
It would be a tragedy for it to just fade out.
Its a tall order but you have to admire Marks enthusiasm.

he11 yea! i ordered a big a$$ 24/7 sticker for the back window of my cap... its cool to see someone so enthusiastic and deticated to something! i wish him the best! Mark has helped me so much with my new ski, and my old one also.... in fact the day i met him at the clinic, he was working on my ski before i even knew his name... (i had to swap out motors during the lunch break). iv met alot of cool people involved in this sport, and am glad this is my new hobby!!!!!

well, i headed out to jersey early tuesday morning to go work on my ski with mark. got up there tues after noon, worked some, and worked more on weds. and just got home late last nite. the main reason i headed out, was i was delivering "sabo's" hull and motor and my motor and some parts i had here already. and bring my hull home so i could get the top deck painted black. well i got there and mark had a surprise for me. a stock 05 SJ hull that was every bit as clean and low hrs as the the 03 hull i got from wammer, but, this one was already black! so, Sabo is now the pround owner of the 03 hull. and i am using the 05...... this trip we got sabo and i's motors tore apart so the motor mods can get started. and i got to do some sanding on my carbon pole, so i got to itch the whole ride home....... i got to check out Pat's hull, all the hoods, my hood, some poles, and all the other stuff thats going on all over that shop. ( and i did see a blaster mold in the shop that was being made) i took some pictures, and a little video of mark stomping on the 3.5 lb hood. and some pics of us standing and jumping on them. i weighed the hood and it was truly right at 3.5 lbs. and seemed real strong too. and the pole with chin pad was under 6. so now that i dont have to paintand sticker the hull and take it back, we'll probally head back up in a month or so, when the motors are done, and help with the assembly, do some turf, and hopfully be riding them the trip after when the weather breaks.... put up some pics from this trip. i will get more as the project rolls on!

i figured out how to get vidoes out of my digital camera and onto youtube. this is video i took of mark stomping down on my new hood. i was scared for my new pretty hood but it took the abuse like a champ. we'll have to see how it holds up to my 3/4 flat to side barrelrolls! (hopefully flat to flat by summer)

YouTube - 24/7 carbon hood

sorry for the poor video quality, the picture sucks and the sound is delayed.

you got any pics of that blaster hull?

the blaster 1 in the backround was travis's. i saw the top deck mold and the hull he was pulling the bottom mold from, but wasn't allowed to take pics of it. i don't know much about blasters, but they looked pretty sweet. the whole concept of "making" a jetski hull from scratch is something i never knew happened untill this year... pretty sweet stuff!
