MSD Total Loss Question

I'm trying to set up a Multi Channel MSD Total Loss and I've run into a snag. The ski starts and idles fine and there is a massive spark from the ignition. As soon as I apply throttle the motor sounds like it's hitting a rev limit. I'm not using the holeshot feature and the blue wire is just tie wrapped to the mounting plate but not connected to anything. Do I need to connect it to anything? The holeshot switches are all off (3000 RPM) which makes me think this might be the issue.

The blue wire is for an optional holeshot switch, make sure it does not ground out on your plate.- not needed.
If dipswitch settings are in doubt- go to MSD website and look at the switch settings when new.
