MSD Single Channel vs Multi Channel

Yes obviously the multichannel is the newer version but does it have any distinct advantages? Better power/Longer battery life/ other features?

What is everyones preference? Dual Pickups and Dual coils = more parts to go wrong to me.

If you install it right, the increased parts are not a reliability issue.
Supposedly the dual channel draws less power from the battery.

The dual channel version is said to be more reliable, while the single channel digital is said to be the worst of the three in terms of reliability.
I can't really comment on that.

If you have the choice, and prices are similar, I would go for the dual channel.

You have more timing range on the dual channel box. Meaning, you can run more advance and set it up to retard more at upper rpms. That is the biggest advantage.

One of the biggest advantages of the pro digital (dual system) is that unlike most ignition systems, it only fires each cylinder at tdc rather than tdc&bdc thus giving it potentially twice the rpm capability and less likely to misfire at higher rpms. It also has a holeshot setting to hold engine speed to a set rpm. The module is very tunable without having to switch out any chips. The cost is high (about $1350 for twin cyl) but each component is available separately for replacement or backup parts.
