Custom/Hybrid MSD no spark :(

I got the new magnet and bendix, put it all back together and now I'm having trouble getting my coil for the rear cylinder to ground. I have the other coil grounded the exact same way with no problems. I have an aluminum plate that everything is secured to, I bolted a bolt onto that plate as a common ground and have everything grounded to that bolt and a heavy gauge wire going from that bolt to the battery. I even tried running two ground wires to that coil (one on each side) and it worked for a bit, but after a few seconds of running it lost ground again. I'm stumped, I'm going to try sanding the connection points and see if that helps any but this is really pissing me off!

A couple months later now I lost one tooth off my starter gear, which I'm sure is directly related to the magnet falling out and getting shredded. That was one expensive magnet, I've now replaced the magnet, and bendix... a little while later the flywheel because the teeth on the ring gear were damaged and now my starter. MSD has yet to respond to my email about warranty, not that I expect them to do anything about it anyways.
