I think a static 2 or 3° advance with an enhancer, b-pipe and 180 psi works good. This is my set up ...I do WOT runs for minutes not seconds and show no signs of detonation.

Anyone running the Advent?
I have one on my SXR and one on my SJ and love them both.............my SJ has more bottom end than most modded 701s with much more extensive work. The Advent retards timing quite a bit up top, but adds quite a bit on the bottom................best of both worlds!

i can attest to the advent,we all have msd setups ,and riding phils SJwith the same pipe setup...it felt stronger to me on bottom and mid,Others seem to think not so much,but it felt snappy and stronger to me

msds are reliable as long as you buy them new, grease your connections and hook them up right, and keep your box dry.
Buying them used is a waste for what they go for and you get no warranty. Id spend the extra 50 or 60 bucks for new over a used one.
