Super Jet MSD daul channel flywheel work on a single channel system?

Im guessing that it cannot, but can i just add a second magnet to the flywheel? Or do I need to be looking for a new flywheel?

The old single channel requires two flywheel magnets which are 180 deg. apart. If your "dual channel" flywheel has an opening in which you can install another magnet, you're in luck. The little magnets are available separately and epoxy in. The reason you need two magnets on sgl. channel is: you only have one pick up and you need to fire twice for each revolution.

Yeah it is the 4272 setup only one pickup. It doesnt have the "opening" but i was thinking i could machine 180 deg from the other mag to countersink another mag.

You certainly can! However your indexing must be spot on. After installation you can easily verify results with the necessary degree wheel. One degree or so off - no problem.

I thought MSD sold extra magnets but maybe they sold the magnet removal kit. I can't remember which. Either way, I thought both flywheels were the same but the dual channel just used epoxy in one of the holes instead of a magnet.

Ill have to look at the flywheel when i get home, but im thinking it only had on mag and no machining in the flywheel 180 degs from the other mag.

didnt even think of the flywheel when i bought it seperatly. It was a complete kit minus the flywheel so i picked it up seperate. But for a total of 400 into one reworked by jss i cant complain to much. Time to order up a mag and some epoxy and head to the fab shop

I don't think they sell magnet removal kits, at least I hope they don't. It takes a 1/8" flat punch. Stick it in the hole from the other side and tap with hammer.
