The pics explain it best, The motor and cradles are 701- the intermediate housing is a 650 (it's a 1990 hull) From the pics you can see the motor is not sitting far enough back to line up with the motor mounts.
I traded the intermediate housing from my 94 SJ for this one that came in a 1990 SJ.
My own suspicion is that the shaft may not have been pressed far enough into the housing, so here are the questions:
Does it look like the shaft isn't pressed far enough in (anyone know the measurement off hand?)
If that looks OK, do I need different cradles to fit a 701 into a 650 hull?
