motor ran away

yes to achieve a desired pressure you can mess around with springs and seat sizes. You really should have a pop-off gauge to check. Single carb with stock flame arrestor? You should bring it down and we can try and dial it in better, i gots me a gauge we can use. Ride it for now and maybe if JETX gets his shiz together we can ride. or if you have the different springs pop one in and try it. The mikuni manual tells you which spring is which.

yah single carb with jetnetic FA... out of curiosity i ran a compression check today and was sadden by 130 rear 100 front.. i think i fried my rings from running it dry there... the walls are fine tho.. new rings\pistons?

yah i cant wait to ride with some ppl to show me some tricks

ah shiat! how long did it dry run for? when mine did it Steve jump over and was able to slap his hands over the carbs while i yanked the throttle. maybe 6-7 seconds. I have heard Steve's motor lean run for a good 45 seconds without damage. that wasn't on a break in start up though. FYI my front to rear was 8 psi different after i rebuilt it. 30 psi sounds like you may have hung up a ring. did you chamfer all the ports?

yeah I did chamfer.. i never bothered to test compression after i ported just now after it ran dry (ran away) ..which happened for a bit..couple mins, i was surprised it started and ran at all after...

new rings should fix this problem i assume, got any laying around? cant find any std bore on ebay either..

damn it!!! i got some wiescos and a gasket kit. are you going to pull the jug back off, i have heard of guys lightly sanding the rings to get them to seal again. Not sure if you want to go that route. call your yami dealer, he should be able to hook you up quick enough.

riding my SJ sunday, hittin jumps land sideways , go to give it gas with throttle pulled wide open but RPMS wont climb more than 1\4 throttle... eventually it will build up to normal rpms .. no idea ????

pull my flywheel cover today to inspect and maybe rule out the msd to discover lots of oil residue. Pulled flywheel and stator to see a lump rotating in behind the seal. i guess i did have an airleak, lol, lucky steve has his crank in the shack for me to steal.....i mean....steal. good thing my enhancer didn't come in yet. i would have done some damage for sher. My ski wasn't reving up either but it would idle. it would backfire and miss to the point like it sounded as if it was trying to run backwards if i gave it any throttle. My kill switch took about three minutes to stop the motor as well after i hit it. I think my problem is ignition (enhancer) yours is building up rpms slowly??? did you compression check it again? did you lower the pop off and was it running perfect before you hit the jump and landed sideways. you may have knocked something loose. check the pulse line.

yah i did a compression check b4 and both were 150.. i dojnt know if its my gauge but my head is a westcoast 29cc i should have 180...

i havent lowered the popoff, i dont know how lol...

however i noticed sometimes now when i hit the start button i can hear the starter almost spinning freely

thats the bendix, if it sticks your starter will be spinning really fast....i found that out. I noticed it on the trailer when i started it and the motor just about died and ran really rough. might want to check that out before you gotta buy a starter and a bendix.

oh i guess ill pull the flywheel cover.. i got a spare bendix too

i think partial problem is the carb, i have no idea how to tune.. that and my plugs might be bad too and\or wires
