Motor mount Insert Problems

I went out to my hull this morning to drop the motor in- oops forgot to add something to the "To Do List" over the winter. The pics below explain the problem. The motor mount insert with the broken bolt shouldn't be an issue, I'll weld to it and pull it out. The problem is the other pic. It appears that someone allready attempted a repair- It's some kind of insert, the likes of which I have never encountered. It is secured from pulling out of the hull (I have no idea whats holding it in) The problem is, it is extremely loose and wiggles around, and will most likely fail- So the question is, how in the hell do I fix this? I thought about removing it from the hull and trying to glass a new insert in place, but not too sure if it would work.
Thanks,
Bri

I know this isn't helping, but what the hell is that weed looking stuff sitting in your hull?

Also, I couldn't stand putting an engine back in a hull that is so filthy inside!! I think thats just the clean freak coming out in me though...;)

Have no fear, the reason the hull looks that way- it had no hood on it when it was outside. Those things aren't weeds, they fall off the trees (maybe only common in the north east US?) they are actually seeds that "helicopter" away from the tree. I'll post pics of the hull in prepped condition, once I fix these inserts
Any particular resin to use when installing new inserts?
Thanks,
Bri
