There are several little crappy hole in the wall "Bates" motels along the strip on the other side of the beach, too.
And, they are cheaper.
That's what I'm doing this year. I can only stay one day, so the two and three night minimum thing was gonna be a deal-killer for me.
Just check online by zip code.

i won't be in the back of my suburban crashed out, A bed and a shower are a must for me. Besides it was frigg'n cold last year,,,,, guess you don't feel it if you drink enough

there are plenty of hotels there, I'm sure it won't be a problem.

lots of hotel and motels on strip , just show up no problem

thats how we rolled down the first year 08. no res just pointed south and figured it out on the way. it worked out great with a ocean view room in coral beach.
and the couple that was with us was nice enough to go scrogg in the van the whole weekend. they only came out to shower & ride.

DISCLAIMER: I never stayed here so I dont know how it is inside. But the Scottish Inn is across the street and north less then 1/4mile from Makai. Easy walking distance. It looked pretty damn nice for $35 a night. It was my backup plan if Coral sold out. We walked by it and all commented that we would have stayed there from the look of the front.
