What is the most economical HARD hitting SJ bolt in motor to build? I think the 180HP that I wanted is out of my price range so..........

I'm thinking a single carbed big displacement motor minus electrics, flywheel, and exhaust.

I know I can't afford lameys so that is out.

61X 760?

62t 800??

GP800 with Waterdawg SJ exhaust conversion?

What are my options?

option three w/ gas valve conversion billet head w/ 35cc domes dual 46"s msd total loss or a programmable cdi

that combo will the gas valve conversion will net you roughly 200 psi compression around 150-160 hp and killer bottom end response with the right prop

i had that set-up minus the msd in my gp800 and it left like a rocket....
granted i was running the FPP twin pipes, propped it to hell and was running dual 50mm carbs

Why single carb? From what i know about the 800 motor is that its not that good for freestyle unless its been worked over. you would also need the intake manifold for it from water dawg. Just for the exaust and intake manifold is probobly close to 1k (i dont know for sure, but the exaust is probobly 6-700 plus 2-300 for a manifold. If you were to build a 62t 800 you would need to have a strocker or an engine on its very very last bore. The engine that i am currently putting together is a R&D 61x with flat tops 773cc (if i remember right) and i have already put in 2k bucks to build it. That includes getting a used cylinder. if the cylinder was new i would be close to 3k

The conversion kit you need to fit a GP motor into the SJ will cost you upwards of 2000 bucks by itself.

Give the Jetworks 4mm stroker motor a good look. It's getting rave reviews by those who have them, and are extremely reasonably priced.

I want single carb for simplicity. I can care less if it goes over 45 MPH (but I'm sure it will have no problems doing that anyway).

I want a complete spare motor. Actually my current motor will become my spare. I want a badazz hard hitting budget minded drop and plop motor!!

What is reasonable for a 4mm stroker?

Not sure what Chuckie (Team Sream)offers pricing wise, but his hit hard. Art (Jetworks)offers a nie hitting 4mm stroker for $2200 with your cylender and cases.

Thanks guys. That is some food for thought. What would Art need? 62t cases and any cylinders? Would my stock 38's cut it after that?

I'm leaning more toward another complete drop in set up I think.

I'm thinking 61x 760 48mm already done and up for sale.

Matt : http://www.cgracing.us/page3.html I dont think you can beat this '' $/power '' equasion for a stroker , however ive been wrong many times in the past, I have yet to see anything similar , i would like to see some of the builders come up with some ADVERTISED competative stroker packages ! The advertising is probly whats selling this package ,looks reasonable to me !

for the past 4 seasons I have been running the same TLR ported cylinders. I have been through several combinations, dual 38's, Single 44 and 48 TLR Mod Carb, Dual SRE 46's and Dual 44's (non OEM) tweaked by Team Scream, FPP B Pipe with Limited Chanber, Speedwerx Dry Pipe, and FPP B Pipe with Mod Chamber......
Of all these combinations, TLR Porting, Team Scream 44's with FPP Mod Chamber (B PIPE) has been the best.... does this make the arm wrenching power of a Lamey or a Flat Top setup?? No, but what it does do well is really good overall power when you need it. Flat water rolls, the power is there. Too many people think that you need monstor power. That kind of power can actually hinder you, instead of learning to roll, you are fighting to control the ski.... can you learn to control it? yeah, but you would be better off learning to perfect your rolls, monkey jumps etc, and then go with the larger powered motors. Just some observations.........
