Broken foot be damned; I pulled the walking cast off when Pete said he could make it down for the day to help me work on my setup wakes.
First order of business was him nailing a backflip on my Matrix... not too bad for as little as he's ridden this year:
As of my doc visit yesterday, my 5th metatarsal is healed, but i have a broken 4th metatarsal and a lisfranc dislocation. I'm confined to a walking cast for another month - except when I'm out in the water. So the goal was nailing the different setup wakes with Pete's help and not pushing to where I risk more damage to the foot.
I could have landed, but being as a botched landing off a big boat wake is what broke the foot in the first place - I played it safe the first few times.
I gotta thank Pete for coming down and riding - I couldn't hit a setup wake if I bet $100 on it before today. Now, I can hit J and U wakes fairly consistent and it'll only get better with practice. We're going to do another day in a few weeks - then it's time for backies and barrels.
