That's my favorite trick. Start by 180'ing with one hand on the hand hold. As the rear of the ski drops down gas it once so it pops up, then jump onto the bars and throttle while placing your hands on the front bumper. Hope that helps!

Ahh Yes... The monkey jump

I remember that trick like it was yesterday. Get in a solid tail stand with a very small amount of steady throttle to keep the ski a little higher out of the water. This is the tricky part though. All in one motion you let go of the throttle and let the ski dip, grab the hand hold and climb the ski like a ladder ( combination of pulling the ski down and jumping up on it). Get both feet on the bars and find the throttle quick. At the apex of the verticle thrust jump up and over the bumper holding on to it with at least one hand. Hope that helps.

WOW! Joe nails it in the vid, Kaszer talks you thru it ... step by step! Now all that's left is to practice it. And as with all tricks, break it down into parts if need be and p-r-a-c-t-i-c-e. It's a great trick.

I love this trick... and I don't use trim either. I do them in no wake zones to pass the time on the way to the ramp. I don't do the 180 part. I just stand on the ski at idol just go from your knees to your feet and when rear sinks peg the throttle you have to be at the right angle but you will figure out with practice.

The part that I found was the hardest was jumping... Don't jump to the nose while the ski is climbing out of the water but wait until the moment it starts sinking. Then jump to the nose and bear hug the ski and hope your foot lands on the throttle. If so you just nailed the trick the rest is just up and over.

Well i figured out i was wanting to learn the sprung monkey were you hit your set up and jump up and hug the ski.Thanksfully to DAG saturday i now have that trick under my belt.

did one this weekend.. kinda turns into a monkey throw when only one foot makes it on to the bars.. also entertaining when you dont have a good grip and the ski goes, you stay and grabs your shorts and drags you around for a bit.. just got into a tail stand, stabilized and then grabed the left hand hold, blipped and jumped/climbed onto the bars moved my hands up to the nose and held on until the ski threw me over the top.. a wee bit more power needed to get a good launch..
