To be completely transparent I am not a fan of putting on aftermarket heads. It seems the bump up for compression at the sacrifice of MPG for minimal performace gain and/or the need for over 92 octane just isn't worth it iMHO
so here's my list (I like brap and reliability)
1)Steering absolutely sucks so that is first...pole, cable and umi (WTF was Yamaha thinking)
2)remove choke but keep airbox (no air filter if you surf or sub)
3)pipe & intake grate
4) ride plate
5) msd ignition
other items: bilge pump is easiest to do at the point of the pole at #1. the stock prop is pretty good (usually I do pipe and prop first for pre 08 skis). so step 6 might be repitch prop from impros to 9/16. then the fun stuff...footholds & turf
