I have a Modded FX-1 and a pretty much stock FX-1.
There isnt a big difference in performance.....WHY???

Modded FX-1 Has:
- Factory B-pipe
- Westcoast head
- Boysen reeds
- 160 psi compression
- scoop intake grate
- Aftermarket prop (not sure what brand)
- Ocean pro rideplate
- ocean pro nozzle

Stock FX-1 Has:
- scoop intake grate
- 150 psi compression

1.) I dont understand why my modded FX-1 isnt blowing away my stock FX-1??
2.) Both have the carburators tuned proper also.
3.) Could the small 122 pump be the reason that all my modifications have such little benefits on performance??

Its all about the pump. I have been riding a stock fx1 for three years and I was sure if i put a pipe on it or any other mods it would only make hook up worse where i wanted it to improve.

I am in the middle of a kawasaki pump conversion and I cant wait to finish. I know with out even riding it it will be a better up grade for this ski than anything.

i did not notice much performance gains when i modded my fx-1 until i put the bigger pump in it. i also didnt notice a big difference between a stock fx-1 with a stock pump and a stock fx-1 with a sj pump. i think you have to have the mods and pump together to really have the performance gains.

I rode a stocker for years and added both the FPP pipe and SJ pump this year.

IT IS A DIFFERENT MACHINE NOW. Faster out of the hole and top end and I have not even added an SJ pump shoe yet so it cavitates a bit on take off and am using a stock blaster prop.

Added a milled head after 2 rides which bumped it from 150 up to 175 and it was a little better hit but not really that noticable.
