I've searched a little and never found a solid answer to my question

Can I bolt my 61x cylinder on top of 64x cases without any modifications?
I know the cases are suppose to except the larger bore but will running the smaller cylinder matter?
Also will 61x electronics work with these cases; stator, flywheel and cover?
Thanks for any info!

Yes.

No.

61X electronics will work with the cases IF you use the 61X flywheel and stator. You cannot use 61X CDI with 64X stator and flywheel. You can use the full 64X electronics but I think that the two cylinders run different timing. The flywheel cover may need an oil pump blockoff installed.

Thanks Matte thats what i wanted to hear.
I am not positive but i beleive the 64x cases are even labeled 62t? Do yoy know if they flow the same?
Also the stock 64x electronics the stator is built into the cover do the cases have provisions for mounting a 61x stator?

I have a set of 64x cases and cylinder but they are off awaiting to get media blasted so I am un able to verify but I would like to take my 61x cylinder and girlded head off 61x/61x motor and put onto the other cases bc they should flow much better. But i want to use all my electronics withit as well as crank.

True 64X cases (760) will have two pulse fittings and are bored to accept the slightly bigger sleeve skirts of the 760 cylinder.

Yes.

I wouldn't expect any miracles just from changing from 61X to 62T/64X cases. Your crank and electronics (all of the electronics together!) will work just fine.

Isn't that the most desirable engine combo? the 61x/62t?
I think my 61x/61x runs quite strong! but I thought i would give it a shot if the price is right.

It is the most desirable combo in a lot of ways. The 61X cylinder has the best port timing for an OEM cylinder setup. The 62T/64X cases give the best air flow for dual carb setups, but that doesn't mean much without a properly built motor and carbs to begin with. If you're staying with an OEM cylinder, or if you aren't going above 760cc, or you aren't doing case porting - then I doubt the difference will be much to notice. That's why I said "just from changing from 61X to 62T/64X cases.
