Anyone ever seen / thought about this? Looks like this thing would be ideally suited to take a jet engine rather than the outboard one.

Just looking into a possibility. Saw a video of one of these pulling a wakeboarder too.

Im no expert, but it might be hard to get engine placement as well as pump placement correct with the way you sit in that boat, i do know they make jet attachments for those outboards.

On a side note, ive always wanted one of those mini speedboats like a mini hawk or mini cat boat.

Yeah biggest problem would definitely be trying to mount the engine and pump.

Although they did make these boats with a stock option for a jet drive, just don't know how it all went together.

That looks like a gw invader. my uncle has one and they are fun little boats with a 40hp outboard, but i would think they would be much more fun with a pump.

Okay so I got in touch with the guy who owns the molds for the Aqua Larks now. The company went out of business in the 80's but this guy is apparently still making fiberglass molds.

Anyways here's the email I got back.

i personally do not know about the jet motor but i have a brochure about it though! as for the 3 point hydro it was never released. the transom is heavy duty for a 75 hp OB & there is no V in the hull just 3 hydro pads for speed

The normal Aqua Lark outboard is rated for a 40hp outboard and I think people were saying to go about 40mph on the water, they also have a mildly deep V.

Apparently there is also a 75hp outboard version too :eek:mfg:
Though kind of a scary idea thinking about what sounds like a flat bottom hull with an overpowered outboard on the back. I just keep thinking Wiley Coyote.

There was a guy over on Greenhulk (believe he was over in Norway) that custom made a mini cigarette boat with one of those turbo 4 stroke seadoo motors. It was an awesome build.

Found it, it's a lot of reading but if you skip around and look for the pics and videos it's worth it.

Really cool build. I just wish he'd completely complete it, lol. He seemed balls to the walls for so long, and once he was 98% done, it was like, "Ah, I'll eventually finish the last bit, but I'm starting my next build now." He had what, 2 runs with the seat in it?
