The squish needs to be recut once its milled enough to make a difference. I have taken one down to the squish and still had .070 with a stock gasket but the squish casting is not very accurate.
You can deck it till the lip is gone . The rule of thumb used to be for every .010 would gain 10 pounds of compression there for .030 would give u about 30 pounds give you 180
Stocks fine unless you want to try and get a better copper head gasket that's a little bit thinner. Stock gaskets around .045 thick and pistons down in the cyl about .025 so that leaves you're squishing about .070
