Mikuni 44 carb questions??

Alright I need a carb for a 61x platform...I have access to a 44mm carb from a 650 here locally. I have heard there are different internals between the oem 650, 701, and regular mik 44. Is there a major difference between 650 and 701 oem 44?? WHich one is better?? And how much better is a regular mik 44 VS oem??

I am running a stock 701 with boyesen reeds and either a stock pipe or coffman sizzler...if that matters at all. I woulld like to grab the 44 from the 650 because it is local and cheap but would opt for something else if it is worth it.

I've heard the standard mikunis are preferred, as the 44 (silver) is the base for Full spectrum carbs (they get the workover by Ed).

650 vs 701, cant tell ya.
