Midshaft/PTO Issue

Location

Took the PTO cover off my ski today and noticed that the PTO and midshaft coupler do not sit flush against each other. There is about a half an inch gap between the two. I checked all of my motor mounts and they are ok. Now, I will add that the dude that assembled my ski was a moron, and I am thinking that this midshaft may not be correct. Are there different length midshafts? I'm not sure what else it could be. Thanks.

? .a hard landing and the couplers kissed ,and pushed back the midshaft? i can't remember off the top of my head what kind of gap is ok. i think 1/2 may be too much though

On the superjet there is one length for the intermediate shaft. What you need to do is remove the intermediate shaft assembly and press the shaft out some. Leave yourself about 1/8" between the two halves. Measure the distance you currently have, subtract 1/8" and press the shaft out that much. You can limit the severity of this happening by getting some "Kenney keepers" from Blowsion.
