Super Jet midshaft "feel" question

I had a good used rn midshaft assembly that I had to torch multiple times to get the coupler off. Now it feels like it has a "catch" in it when I turn it. It catches five times per revolution. It feels like it is popping between the five positions when I turn it. Bad bearings now or would you run it and see?

Won't work. There are no dust covers. The grease fitting only puts grease between the two seals and you cannot access the bearings.

Jetmaniac is hooking me up with a new midshaft. Problem solved in the usual way....spending money.

there are black dust covers on the oem bearings themselves, most people don't know the oem koyo bearing itself can be re-packed with grease, dust covers pop off and snap back on...you would have to remove the bearing yes.

the JetManiac midshaft bearing is an excellant quality Japanese Nachi...

I could invest in a press. I think Harbor Freight has them for $150. I googled bearing shops in Macon and found one. It seems hard to believe they would have the seals in stock too but I may give them a call tomorrow. I'm sure jetmaniac is getting my midshaft out tomorrow but I could fix the one I have for a spare. ANyonme know the specs for the bearings and seals for when I call the shop tomorrow?
