midshaft differences?

what changed over the years on the midshafts? Whats to keep me from putting a newer one in my '91?

been reading up a bit... what is vulcanization? It sounds like that rubber damper is not replaceable?

Is the difference in the splines on the shaft, length, what?

I was told ny people here that the bulkhead won't accept the larger bearing housing, but the mid shaft off of a '93 SN does have the larger threads as a RN does.

you need the small bearing midshaft mount.the threads for coupler are also smaller on older shaft.
but you can run a new style shaft if you get matching coupler for it.
all other dimensions are identical.

I saw that 91-93 have the same midshaft part #6R7-51323-01-00

94-95 part #6R7-51323-02-00

yes,only the threaded portion for coupler is different.
all replacements i've seen have been for the later skis.
