Super Jet midshaft bearing play..how much is acceptable?

Squarenose is completely dismantled, to reinforce, footholds etc. While inspecting the hull, after cleaning. I noticed that once pump/drive shaft was removed There is a small amount of play in the midshaft Coupler side. Is this normal? I would guess less than a 16th of an inch. Last ride, it felt great no vibrations or heating up...I want to er, on the side of caution and ask...while hte ski is all apart.

Absolutely no sound or griding that tells me it is a bearing issue. oil seals feel snug, but not too tight.
Grease zirk fitting is still intact. (which Ive heard, the bearings are sealed soo this fitting is purely for the seals, not bearings).

Input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I second that, it takes about 5 minutes to put a new bearing in. Does anyone have a source for non-oem seals? I went with yamaha seals last time, but they were more than the bearing.

You only need one seal, you can leave one snap ring in to locate the bearing. The seals are not super critical because the bearing is sealed. The bearing is just a 6205 rs, any bearing supplier will have them, pretty common.

Soo...from what I gather. I can leave in the two rear seals and clip (facing the pump) and just remove the inside single seal, and clip to push the bearing out that way using the midshaft...?
i assume the midshaft, is pressed into the bearing...and the clips are what hold it in place....not the other way around.

?correct me if Im wrong.

I don't mean to thread jack but what if it spins really easily and has very little resistance even after adding new grease. It's not quite bicycle wheel spinning but it will definitely spin a full rotation or more if I give it a flick.

NoNot thread jacking at all...I appreciate the input. My midshaft, spins as freely as you describ.e It just has a maybe 1/16th of an inch movement that I have never seen in bearings, EVER. It makes zero growling, does not hang up or bump as turned...
I know sometimes, if it aint broken, don't try to fix it.
My hull is stripped bare bones to reinforce, shorten etc etc...soo I figured while its all apart, easiest time to fix bearings is now...

Just an off movement. Almost as if the bearing is tight, spins freely..but the housing around the bearing has a slight amount of movemenet ...as if the bearing istself has ovaled out in between teh c-clips. Is this even possibe, in your opinions...??
