Ive got a few questions now that im about half way through my build. My first is how i go about dual cooling. Do i have to tap the head or can i just go off of the 2nd factory tap the the head pipe? My other question is where do i get the new jets that factory pipe reccomends? Im gonna fix up my footholds and glass them in tonight, and as long as the motor is out and waiting for my TDR to come, i was told i might as well look into dual cooling. Ive heard its a big difference.

I have been told that dual cooling was not a big issue on and SXR for freestyle. Big bore, or limited race it is needed. JSU and Blowsion both said that it could actually cause a cold seisure of the cyl, if you are in cold water, like we ride in the spring. Check your operating temps if you are questioning it. Mine was fine.

well that is really good to hear, because i ride from april until november so that would potentially wreck my ski so thats out of the question now. Any ideas on the jets as far as where i can get them and how much $$, because if they recomend it then its a necessity.

If it's a new pipe they come with them. If not you can get them most places. Blowsion, Wamiltons, etc. See the SXR parts supplier list for more.

Dual cooling can never hurt. Also, as long as you warm up your ski properly when it is verycold out, you wont cold seize it. In theory it is possible....if you ride in Alaska, in the winter, and its deathly cold and you do not warm up your ski correctly.

Dual cooling can be run many ways....depending on your setup. What is your engine set up like? Stock head and pipe, or stock head and a wetpipe? That info could help in how you run your cooling lines.
