Ive got this old 650 engine, with a nean yellow head on it, I think its a mariner.

it appears to be a 2 peice head, like the center section has allen screws, and the base uses the head bolts.

I think it might be leaking, what the hell can I do for a gasket between the 2 peices, or is it O rings?

does anyone remember?

( pics later)

haha

dude its on my boat right now, its STRONG for a 650, BUT its getting harder and harder to start in the water, I suspect its seeping water.

IM afraid if I pull it apart though, I wont have the stuff to put it back together.

Ketsair,

ok, so I have to pull it apart to verify?

is it more likeyl to be leaking on the O ring ( top plate) or the head gasket ( between bottom and cylinder deck) ?

if you're thinking it's leaking water into the cyl, then more likly to be the head to cyl gasket, than the top half gasket, have you ever had that head off? do you know if the domes are removeable?

It's probably o-ringed. You can buy o-ring material at a good Ace or True Value. Fit it, then carefully cut it to the right length and the glue it together. Worked on my stroker plate.
